La Cevicheria is a must for a lunch. Salad, arroz and ceviche stuffed with plump squid, shrimp or whitefish. My man Anthony Bourdain is a fan, so it must be authentic. (caveat: Bourdain and I have never met, but I’m a huge admirer).

Entering Café Havana is like stepping back in time. Wondrously old-school…rickety ceiling fans, sepia photographs, half-liters of rum served with glass coca-cola bottles, neon cigar advertisements. Once the band starts a few minutes before mid-night, patrons of all ages bump hips salsa dancing.
